Indonesia, In Photos
Periodically, I'll feature a place I've traveled in the form of a photo album. This is meant to inspire you without exerting unnecessary influence over what you decide to do at that destination. No information overload, just a visual diary.
Welcome to Indonesia, in photos. Of over 17,500 islands [um, what?!] in this archipelago of a nation, I breezed through a measly five. Before I returned home, I already knew I'd be back...
SUMATRA
Sumatra, an untamed and stunning landscape with every possible shade of green. And lots of very big smiles on gracious, welcoming locals. Oh, and wild Orangutans.
Rafting, Bukit Lawang style
Gili Trawangan
Gili T.
The "party island" of the tiny three Gilis. Get your dives in early... if you can wake up after a late night dancing at the beach bars. Or just go in off season.
NUSA LEMBONGAN
Nusa Lembongan is what you thought Bali would be before you landed in Denpasar and felt like you were in adult Disney Land... no cars on this little island, only scooters and tuk-tuks, and quiet beaches. And the most pristine reef I've ever seen, NBD.
Hope you enjoyed the journey. Perhaps you'll make it on your own one day!
